I just found out that you can have symptoms with out having low sugar at the time. Everytime I feel a symptom I check my sugar and alot of times its not so low. My endo says when you have HG you can experience the symptoms anytime with or without low sugar

I know you're busy, but shortchanging yourself in this respect is dangerous for you and your children. In severe cases of low blood sugar, you can pass out, have convulsions, slip into a coma, or even die.
Get a watch with several timers on it that will beep and remind you to eat. At the bare minimum, carry a bag of almonds with you and eat 10 of them if you feel shaky or haven't eaten in two hours. Some other snacks that you can carry with you are cheese and whole grain crackers, apple slices with peanut butter, yogurt with some fresh fruit mixed in, celery sticks with almond butter, or shrimp with sugar free cocktail sauce (I use frozen shrimp and put a paper towel in the baggie with them. By the time I need them, they have defrosted).

I have passed out 3 times in the past few years from hypoglycemia. I have noticed a trend. If I have any alcohol on an empty stomach, and then eat, I have passed out at the end of the meal! NEVER drink without having some protein in your system.
I rarely ever drink, but 2 months ago was out of town for business, some coworkers decided to go to a pub and then dinner. I had 1 beer, and then ate dinner about 2 hours later. AFTER I finished eating dinner it came on me so quickly, I passed out at the table. Fortunately the person I was with knew what to do, by the time I came to, they had gotten the waiter to bring some OJ. then I had to get some bread and nuts before I was ok again. I was so tired and just wanted to go home and go to bed. I also notice my sugars go down when I am stressed. Often when shopping (standing in line), I'll get the shakes and cold sweat. I have been keeping those mini tootsie-roll pops in my purse, it gives me just enough sugar to last until I can get to some form of protein. I also carry a jar of peanuts in my car. After the last episode I realized I should probably wear some sort of medical ID- so someone would know how to react if I passed out. The problem is, all I can find is Diabetic ID's, nothing for hypoglycemia. Also, my doctor seems to think this is no big deal which is frustrating! He just tells me to eat small meals throughout the day. Anyway, I like the beef jerky idea- I'll have to try and keep some in my car too.
