Is it really necessary to use a monitor? My Dr asked me if I wanted one and I said no. I figure if I feel good my sugars fine, if I don't feel good it's low. I've been reading some of these posts and now I'm thinking maybe I should get one. Any advice guys? Thanks in advance.

good idea too ask about this! I've been considering a meter so that when I run for track I know if my levels are too low before a meet so that I can get them up, but honestly I have no idea my doctor never told me much about what hypoglycemia is and what I should do, only that I need to eat more. That's why I'm on here! =]

I used it for awhile and it helped me to confirm that my waking sugar level was extremely low. When I started making sure that I had a snack at bedtime, the levels went up and I felt better upon waking. It just helps you to pinpoint that the sugar level is the source of your symptoms.

Thanks, I think using it for awhile might help find any bad habits I might have and how to correct them. Does it hurt to prick your finger? I'm a big chicken so that might be a slight problem for me.
