If you have followed my posts, you know that my doctor has been lowering my thyroid medication, from .250 mcg to .200 mcg and now it is at .175 mcg. (all of this within a month and a half). I will be rechecked in September. Does anyone know how long it can take for your body to adjust to the dosage changes....hopefully to see a positive result?

" It takes replacement meds more than a few weeks to adjust. Every two weeks in lowering down the med may not be enough time. A replacement med usually takes eight weeks on the average to find out whether or not the person is on the right amount.

Is your doctor checking you by having the Free T3 and the Free T4 lab tests done? These tests are important for people who are either hypO or hypER. Insist on these labs to be done together with the TSH.

Consider getting your labs done in the middle of August (or eight weeks after your last dose changes) and not September when it could be too long of a time period to find out how you are doing.

Take care... :-) "
