It seems that at night I get very irritable when it is time to rest. I tend to get so frustrated with something and then I bark at my wife sending everything into a downward spiral.... I then go upset at myself afterwards.....Please help me understand this. Why is the night time the worse????

Keep in mind that after Im done acting like an ass for 5 minutes or so. I just want to crawl out of my skin and cant believe how I reacted, or how I handled it. Any help is appreciated again. My wife is having a hell of time understanding this now, as the symptoms have been around for awhile but only diagnosed now.

Hi:
Yes, I know the feelings, been there and done that, unfortunately with my hubby and my kids! :-( I've had a lifetime of thyroid disease. I've had undiagnosed hypO symptoms since as a teenager. I only recently became hypERthyroid in 2000 at the birth of my last child. I've always had been considered as a high strung irritated person since as a teenager. Not fun and not understanding why I had such problems. Now I do of course! I would really suggest you get put on the beta blockers...for one thing, it corresponds with the Free T3 levels. Your Free T3 was high initially. Who knows where this number is now together with the Free T4? Once thyroid levels comes down to the 'right' numbers and you keep working with the 'tweaking' the doses at every six weeks with your labs, you'll find out where you feel your best with the Free Ts within the normal ranges, much of the irritable person you once were, should go away. It did for me, except of course i deal with the menstrual cycles which you don't have. Take care... :-) P.S. Have you seen the new Endo yet?

Consider coming over and posting at the Graves' Disease board here at DS. We have more people there as well as the far and few occasional men who do post about their thyroid problems as well as some guys who post about advice to get along with their mates who have thyroid disease.
Take care... :-)

When you go to the doc will you have had labs before and wil be able to discuss it with him? You have to see where your levels are now after a month.Give it another 2 weeks. How much of a dose are you on? Sometimes the meth(we call it that!) wears off and you need to take it twice a day if this happens(you get breakthrough hyper symptoms)
