does anyone else have issues with numbness and loss of the ability to use your hands and feet? i have lost a lot of the ability in my hands. im constantly dropping things. it drives me crazy. my feet are numb a lot of the time. sometimes to the point i can sit and squeeze my toes and not feel a thing. i mis-step and fall, trip, or stub my toes a lot. my doc keeps assuring me that it is all related to the HMS, but i really wonder if there is something else going on too.

" Hey, i had very similar problems to this and also was unable to grip things such as spoons and my hair brush. When i explained this to my physio she advised that nerves in these joints are being affected and this also creates the pins and needles feeling. She gave me wrist and ankle splints to minimise the movement which i wear all day and although they haven't totally resolved the problem they have dramatically reduced it. Hope this helps x "

" Hi, I have HMS and I also have HNPP, I think in a way they may be connected. HNPP is a nerve disorder where the affected nerves do not repair themselve immediately and cause numbness and weakness for days weeks and sometimes months, it is caused by putting pressure on certain nerves like sitting on you elbows or crossing your legs, cutting with scissors just to name a few. HNPP.org is a good info sight DS has not yet recognised it by itself. it would be good to look into. "

" Oh I was going to ask you if you wear high heel shoes alot or shoes that sqeeze your toes together? This is a huge culprit for numb feet, one night out on the town and my right foot was numb for 6 months. "
