Hello , I would like to share my story with everyone on here so that if you had any questions for me on the treatments that I have tried just reply.
okay So I'm 26 and have been suffering from Hyperhidrosis since I was 12. I have tried EVERYTHING ! well..... mostly everything . I guess you could say that I'm a bit of a risk taker. As far as a person with Hyperhidrosis could be pushed Ive gone there. When you get desperate enough you will try anything. Here is a list of a the treatments I have tried and let me know if you would like to know my experience or success/failure with the following:
Acupuncture
Formaldehyde
Drysol
Drionic
Surgery
Botox
And most recently with no results ....yet....... Sage

" I've tried drisol, a couple different kinds of meds that were supposed to dry me out (allegra and ?), botox, several other types of deoderants, powders, etc.

For me, the only thing lately that seems to help me is ativan. It helps calm me down a little with (knock-on-wood) no side effects.

Did surgery help you? I wanted it, asked for it even but never got it while I still had insurance. I don't know if it would have covered it or not the doctors really didn't try very hard to help me. "

" I had the surgery when I was very young 14 and they make a tiny cut under your arm . The first side that they did while they were in there they accidentally collapsed my lung. So I had to wait 6 months for that to fully heal before they could do the right side. Back then they cut the nerve but now they use a clamp. Everything went fine the second time around but after about 7 years my nerve on the right side grew back together . So now I sweat excessively from the right side of my body.Funny thing is its my shaking hand ! Too bad. Anyways the thing that frustrates me the most is if I only knew that was going to happen I would have played my life out differently. I guess took every opportunity to do the things that my sweating holds me back from now.
Any other questions just let me know. "

" Dear Hopeseeker,
I understand your frustration with hyperhidrosis. I have been dealing with it for over 40 years. I have not tried any medications or surgeries, it just lived with it.
It most affects me in my crotch area, the sweating is bad, but the horrific zits as a direct result are a nightmare. I get them on my pantieline. Incredibly painful and wholly uncalled for. This hit when I turned 14, and I stunk badly. I quit eating red meat at that time and though I still sweat, I do not stink.

" I had excessive palm and armpit sweat. I tried everything in your list except the acupuncture.

None of it worked except for the ETS Surgery. For me it shut it off like a switch. One minute I had this uncontrolable problem, the next it was gone. I made every attempt to trigger it but it has not returned. There is however some residual belly sweat that occurs when I exercise but notthing uncontrolable. "

" I used a drionic device 12 years ago and I didn't have any success with it but I have heard that it works for some people . Thats good that you are trying more than one method at one time you need to stack more than one thing so that you can obtain some result. On youtube there is a guy who explains how you can make your own Ionic device at home . Soaking your hands or feet in sage tea over time does work as well. But using all these methods combined could help. Hope all is well .
Happiness is not a destination its the path along the way.
Don't get discouraged about the things you can't do. Do the things that you can.
I found for me any kind of water sport , swimming , wake boarding , tubing etc . These activities gave me the freedom to let go of the negative feelings of embarrassment and discomfort and allowed me for that short time to just BE and enjoy the moment. "

" Hey Twinstar88 , Sorry you have to go through this I know its not a very pleasant thing to have to deal with . I didn't have any results with acupuncture ,BUT I do know that what works for one person doesn't work for the next .So my advice would be try it and if you aren't getting any benefits from it just try and enjoy the session as much as possible , some people use acupuncture as a stress reliever so try and be as relaxed as possible . Hope this helped you !!!! Take care
: ) "
