Maybe you could get a few friends who understand, and a teacher or counselor, and start an awareness group in your school. It's not much, but it's a start.

Children and namly teenagers can be very cruel and they just don't understand what we face a daily basis. Yes we appear to be functioning normally but, our brains are constantly fighting a battle with our CSF. We do get tired,we do get headaches that leave us unable to function. Those who haven't been there really don't understand it. I used to go to school after having surgeries and complications and it was hard. But, I just dealt with it and covered things up the best that I could. My teacher's, school nurses, and a few friends knew, some were supportive others just didn't get it. Now at 22 it really doesn't matter who understands it. Those who need to know do know, and those who don't, don't. I live my life day by day one step at a time. Honestly don't care what people say about me or my health. I know the truth and what goes on with it and that's all that will ever matter. My advice would be to ignore the BS and explain it those closest to you.

Good luck with the kids at school. Teens can be so insensitive but can also be so passionate and helpful when motivated. Hopefully the latter will be the case.
Good luck, Tom
