It's Katie formerly known as "KanadianSweetie." I decided to come back. I missed DS greatly and needed support for my OCD, but of course want to check in on my Hydro friends!

I about a week ago was up one night and could not sleep and was reading online searching to see if I could contact my pediatric Neurosurgeon. At the age of 17 off to the adult hospital you go.

Well, I found his contact and was able to e-mail him saying still 20 years going strong with the same shunt placed two days after my birth. That again the only surgeries I had were that revision for the tubing when I grew too tall and then when the tubing fall apart where it was connected and having emergency surgery four years later.

I mentioned how grateful I was for his work considering all the stories I've read here and how lucky I really am. I get migraines and nausea, but that's nothing compared to what so many of you go through and thank you for your stories.

Well, I thanked Dr. Cochrane for saving my life and that his work 20 years later was still going strong.

That morning I got an e-mail from him saying that he got my e-mail at 1am after a surgery and it "made his night."

I wish he could be my Neurosurgeon forever.

But thank you all here for your stories as I did not realize how bad Hydrocephalus can be, you have all my love, gratitude and support. I admire you all.
