I attend a virtual academy. I really love it. It's great because it has alot of the pros of homeschooling (such as staying home, spending more time with family, some flexibility) plus I have a teacher for each class (which helps me stay on track), I interact with other students daily, and I find it less stressful, knowing that I don't have to worry so much about where I should be in the curriculam. I am in high school and wouldn't recommend it for children younger than 11 or so.

Yeah, I go to one of these and to be honest, it makes me feel isolated because I have to spend so much time alone on the computer (except for my "virtual" friends & the teacher), and it's already difficult for me to socialize as it is, so not being at a school where I actually *attend* everyday & spend time with "real" ppl is difficult. Next year I'm going to be switching back to my old private school...

I attend a virtual academy also. It is great, because you have grades, teachers for each class, discussions with other students, and more.

I love the academy. I can work at my own pace yet still have friends. I go basicly cause mom is way over protective. I can hardly wait till my 18th b-day.

I have no choice, my child has a liver problem she is in kindergarten this yr at A Beka academy and she is straight a's but the stress on me is out of sight, grading, memorizing, mailing certain papers, keeping certain ones, taping reading, progress reports and last but certainly not least homework, god I have more things to do than this it is a four hour dvd to be accredited if I dont go accredited we will be in trouble with the school board all homeschools must be accrediated.

I go to Florida Virtual school,
and to be honest, I really REALLY hate it. I made a huge mistake, I used to be into drugs, and now my life is back on track, but I'm still expelled for the rest of the year, and before I got expelled I was an honor student with straight A's and they really didn't want to let me go, but they had to. Now, my grades are C's and lower, and I am in danger of repeating a grade.

My daughter is in an online school. She has teachers---but she works on her own and her books are on cds. Since, she has been sick it is good she can work anytime of day, night weekends. She can ask questions --sometimes the answers help her other times it dosen't so that's the downfall. I don't believe it is acredited for our school district, but it is acredited to give a diploma after 12th grade and acredited for colleges. Is there a diffrence w/virtual schools? Do you have a classroom w/teacher student interactions?????
