" Hi Carole,
I am 61 and was diagnosed with Hodgskin Lymphoma in July of this year. I am now about 1/2 way through treatment. There are plenty of us out here in your age range. I hope will you check back and see this posting. Let me know how you are doing. "

" My Mother has just been diagnosed with Hodgkins and she is 73. She has only had 1 treatment. This week has not gone very well and we don't know if it is normal or not. I'm glad that I found this site. "

" She ended up getting dehydrated and she was given IV fluids along with nausea meds. She had shooting pains & constant pain that kept up up for about 3 nights. She is not a complainer, so this was bad. Last night she slept and has had a pretty good day today. They are going to give the chemo a little differently next Thursday so that she will not be as sick. How are you doing? "

" She did better this second treatment. She is really tired and has started losing her hair. It will be gone by weeks end. "

" As hard as it is to do sometimes, you need to drink as much liquid as you can. I have been in treatment for 3 plus months and have a terrible problem with burining/metallic taste in my mouth. I find that adding a few drops of lemon juice to water helps get it down without so much of the metallic taste. There are always some pretty bad days immediately following Chemo, but you will find little tricks to help you manage if you keep networking.
I will add your mom to my prayers. Try to stay positive that :-) "
