I have had numerous CAT scan since Sept 08 and have enlarged Mesentric Lymph nodes that have grown from 9mm to 1.2cm. My last CAT scan also showed that my spleen is enlarged just above normal. I am also experiencing night sweats too.
My family doctor has referred me to a Hemotologist for Lymphoma. I am just curious about other opinions and experiences if this could be Lymphoma. I am really starting to worry as it appears that my symptoms appear to be Lymphoma. I have no signs or symptoms of any infections or inflammation. Thanks for your help and opinions and suggestions. A mass in the chest in addition to night sweats are symptoms of Lymphoma. Personally, my others symptoms includes fevers, back pain (due to bone involvement), inability to fight an eye infection and itchy skin.
I just completed six months of chemo and am disease free. I remember being horrified at the word Lymphoma, when diagnosed. The reassuring facts are Hodgkin has a very high five year remission rate close to 90% and NHL has a newish drug called ritixumab that is helping many people live longer. (Hopefully someone else on here knows more about it) After my first round of chemo: r-abvd I was feeling better that I had in months, the back pain, fever and night sweats were gone. After the second treatment all my other symptoms had disappeared. If you do have Lymphoma the sooner you being treatment the sooner you will start to feel better. As for support and information I suggest contacting a social worker the specialized in cancer from a local hospital they can help you navigate through treatment. Good luck at your doctor's appointment.

Wow that sounds alot like me 6 months ago. the enlarged spleen, the night sweats, everything. That doesnt mean that you do or you do not have lymphoma. what it means is that you should be sure that your diagnosed correctly.( I was misdiagnosed for Mono originally). but like KaiteeD said, if it is lymphoma, dont worry, i've heard numerous stories of people getting through this, and im sure you'll do the same.

Just to reiterate what others have already said - if it is Hodgkin's lymphoma, it is very treatable! I didn't have any symptoms except itching and the inability to fight some infections (pinkeye, ear infection, etc.). Fortunately your nodes are small, and it sounds like your doctor is on top of it. All my best to you!
