...but certainly not new to angioedema and urticaria.

I was born with hives. No joke. I am 44 & have had them quite literally all my life. I'm not allergic to anything except fire ant bites. My triggers are exercise/increase in body temperature, being out in the sun for more than a few minutes, pressure, and sometimes nothing at all.

I frequently wake up with them about 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning. I have frequently been hospitalized once or twice a year for IV treatment with massive doses of steroids anti-histamine cocktails. I have been to many an allergist and immunologist from the Mayo Clinic on down. Big bad bouts come and go, but I have them somewhere on my body to some degree every day. My best daily med combo is Atarax (100 or 125 mgs depending on what I feel I need) and Zantac(2, whatever that is in mgs).

I joined DS for the diabetes forum. I have my blood sugar numbers under pretty good control right now, but I need to lose some weight--which is hard to do when exercising makes me sick.

I look forward to getting to know all of you.
