i just got tattooed three days ago and he did the outline. i have been using eucerin like it is going to disappear of the earth. suddenly i am breaking out in hives up the right side of my neck and shoulder as well as on my arm where i had the tattoo done (the right arm). could it be all the moisture from the lotion? i have several tattoos and have never broken out from black ink. i have been REALLY stressed out today, but then why would the hives only be on one side? i am very prone to hives and rashes...could it be some type of dermatitis? i took 75mg of benydryl, 3 chlortrimiton, and an allegra, don't worry i've taken this cocktail numerous times, and can still walk and talk! high med. threshold! i'm really itchy and not very happy...any brilliant ideas of what to do anyone??? i still have to color the tattoo in. and if it is the ink wouldn't i get the hives right away, concidering it's going into my skin and blood stream? this is three days later...please say this is a rash due to too much moisturizer and moisture in my skin:)

" Have u ever broke out n hives when u have been stressed out? I really use 2 believe that idea was crazy until 1 day when I was working n the ER & a young lady came n w/ the worse case of hives I had ever seen. After doing every test, asking tons of ?'s, it truly was caused from stress. U should use neosporin on your tat not eucerin. Didn't your tat artist tell u that? I am a nurse & have tats 2. Now by no means do claim 2 b an expert though. 1 of the tats I got was on the top of my foot. I was working so I had 2 wear shoes. The friction caused my tat 2 get infected. I had 2 take abx. But it healed up quickly. U should also keep your tat covered when out n the sun. I would take 25-50mg of benadryl every 4hrs. All that other stuff really isn't necessary. Aveno baths or shower gel might help. Aveno lotion might help 2 but only put neosporin on the tat. @ least until it completely heals. If none of this helps then u probably need 2 c a Dr. They can give u a prescription for atarax &/or steroids. Best of luck. Hope this might help. Your other doggie is cut 2, but I truly am a pug lover. I like how u refer 2 him as the "Godfather." We refer 2 our oldest pug as "Grandpa D." (although that's not his given name) "

" You may certainly have a reaction. I agree with the neosporin as some actually cause swelling and drainage. We can develop allergies at any time, to anything. Our immune systems change all the time.
I would see a doc this time, as even an infection from a tat can cause a reaction. "
