I'm drowning in stress..
I don't think any colleges will accept me
I havn't taken the SAT yet

and I'm really obsessed...with a's..I have a B right now, and its impossible to raise...I can't do it, everytime I look at it I feel like I'm going to throw up.l..I know this is irrational and stupid
but I'm soo soo frightened of not getting into college
or not being able to go
I want to cry right now
i want to cry every time I think about it
dear god..>I don't know what to do anymore

" First off, you need to calm down. You won't do yourself any good freaking out because you won't be productive. Take things one step at a time and break down your goals into reasonable pieces.

First things first, sign up for the SAT's. I believe that the regular registration deadline for the October 10th SAT test is this Wednesday, so sign up for that. If you have any questions, go to collegeboard.com There, you can get an account and figure out all the stuff you need to do. I find it super helpful because they can also send you a daily SAT question to help you prepare for the test (which does help raise your score!)

Then as for the grades, what is it that is making you get a B over an A? Are you forgetting your homework occasionally? Are you missing extra credit opportunities? Have you tried talking with your teacher and asking for help? I'd suggest talking to the teacher, because if your teacher knows that you really care about the class, he/she might be more lenient in grading on you or help you out more by providing opportunities for you to raise your grade. This can also help to create a bond between you and your teacher which would be wonderful for a college recommendation.

As for college hunting, it seems like you are a dedicated student, and work very hard. Just keep up the hard work and make your application essays as great as you can while adding as much personality as you can.

So just break up your concerns into more manageable goals and don't be afraid to ask for help.

Good luck!! :-) "

" Dude, you need to get over yourself. Cry, do whatever you need to do. After crying, talk to your academic adviser. He/she will give you concrete goals to complete one step at a time.

That's what I did. Its worked. "

" Get tutoring in these areas you are having trouble with getting an A. Talk to your teacher about ti, or you and your friends can have scheduled study groups. Have SAT practice over the internet a couple of times. If you get something wrong, it'll explain what you need to improve on. You still have good grades, and I hope you get straight A's! "

" sorry, I was in a really frantic, strange state of mind when I wrote this...I keep forgetting the important things...my priorities...1st thing: be happy...that trumps my grades any day
I try to remind myself that getting a B is ok, I'd rather have a free absent-of-stress night not doing 4 hours of mindless busy work in this one class than get an A...and that's ok I think...I am still freaking out though, I don't know why...I'm indoctrinated with their litanies of how to be a "good" student, and equate that to being a "good" person, not true.
thanks for the advice, ....I'm signed up for the SATs and am taking the ACT again, but god, I'm not in a math class and I know I'm going to do horribly, I don't have any time to study because of all the homework I have...oh well, hopefully I do ok enough to get into the college I want
...I'll be sooo relieved when the application process is over "
