As many of you know Zetia is NOT a statin drug (like lipitor, crestor, zocor, mevacor) so does not cause any untoward effects on the liver HOWEVER it is not nearly as effective for lowering the LDL as the statins are but it is an attractive alernative (rather than doing nothing) in patients who cant take statins.
