Would taking over the counter garlic tablets help with high cholesterol? MY doc called and told me that my triglycerides where high and uped my lisinopril to 10mg but I though that was for high bp. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has tried garlic instead and did it work?

" for some it works. the nice thing is it it totally natural. so overdoing it is only going to cause some aroma, unlike some other holistic, or OTC items. red rice yeast is one example. it is basically a statin that occurs naturally, so one needs to be careful with it. other methods of natural pursuit include flaxseed oil, fish oil, niacin in small doses. but the best way is to try to eat a diet high in fresh vegetables and low in red meats and of course weight loss through reduced caloric intake and exercise "
