I am 30 yrs old and was just told I have HBP. My doctor told me she wants me to be at or under 1gram of sodium a day. I am having a hard time with this as everything has so much sodium in it. I can't find recipes that are every day food.

I am not overweight, I eat healthy. We don't eat fast food, fried food's once in awhile, we cook at home every night, hardly ever do we use canned foods, no processed packaged foods, we try to do everything as fresh as we can.

Please help me because I am having a hard time with this.

" I've had HBP since I was 23 and now I'm 34. Well I should say thats when I went to the doc and got told I had HBP. I have been on several meds for it to find out what works for me. Right now I take Benazepril/HCTZ 20-25mg and it works good. My blood p stays low and stable. I inherited HBP from my Dad and plus how my Mom cooked when we were growing up (Fried foods, lots of butter and oil, and processed foods). I inherited some things from my Dad HBP and gluacoma, and my Mom high cholestrol. I also have PCOS. I suffer from depression as while. I try to eat right but with the healthy food being so expensive its hard to do. "

" I had good results with the Ultrametabolism plan http://www.ultrametabolism.com/ I read all his books which I got at the library. You can download a guide to his latest book here to get an idea. http://www.ultramind.com/guide_sig... Eating as he suggests and taking the basic vitamins etc that he suggests has changed my health a great deal. I was able to lower my blood pressure without exercise or reduced salt intake, "
