Yes my story is long but to shorten it, I was on 200mg a day of Toprol XL for 3 yrs, the side effect out weighed my problem which was Resting Tachycardia.. (I am only 35 yrs old) but only one very small episode. Been off the toprol XL for over 2 months now and still have very HIGH HEART RATE upon standing goes to 120 or 130, resting is in 90's, blood pressure was very high but has really came down to normal. I also had repeated Urinary Tract Infections but that seems to have cleared up for now.. has anyone been in this situation and can or will my heart rate come back down on its own. I am getting stronger but its a slow frustrating process I am in and I am considering getting back on meds, but I don't have HBP so I feel like if I control it on my own and get the heart rate down would be so much better then living the nightmare I did on the Beta Blockers.. any suggestions or knowledge of this would be wonderful.. I feel I am in Secondary Hypertension but not sure as I don't have a good doctor who has helped me at all with this.. I am still on that search now..

" HI Ben,
WOW your bp was very high so are you on any meds now and have you found any doctors who have said if their is anything out there natural besides drugs to help get your heart rate down or are they saying anything else hey maybe we can help each other.
One question for you do you have hbp when you are up and around or when you sit down does it go to normal, cuz I feel getting off the beta blockers has created a Rebound effect for me and their is a name for it, I have to search for it again but basically its the high blood pressure upon standing and with movement and that is what shoots up our heart rates, even thought mine is from getting off the meds doesn't mean we don't have the same thing huh...
