Yesterday I was taking my blood pressure and it showed a irregular heart beat.My blood pressure was fine. I have never had that happen and I always take it everyday and that little symbol NEVER comes up. Now it does say that if you see it 5 times or more than there is a problem but that was the only time I saw it. Could it be I just wasnt relaxed. Ive had 4 EKG's two chest X-rays and 1 CT Scan to the chest so I dont know if this is something to worry about or not. Thanks

" I wouldn't worry about it if it only happened once. I've probably taken my BP 1,000 times with my machine and an irregular heartbeat also has shown up once. I was sitting at the counter with my feet hanging down and wiggling a little bit. Perhaps if you move slightly, the irregular beat symbol shows up. I've got a lot more important things to worry about!!! "

" I heard extra beeps when I was taking my bp, and it felt like butterflys or fluttering in my chest. No pain, BP was on the rise that week due to divorce crap. My doc was not alarmed, but put me on atenolol to lower my BP and reduce the chances of palpitations. There are side effects that affect asthma, but it seems like a good trade off for me. "
