Has anyone had any success with relieving HS with baths? I don't have a bathtub currently. I used to love to take baths and my husband and I are considering putting in a bathtub, I'm wondering if I might find any relief with one.
Thanks!

" When I was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, the doctor actually had me taking 2 whirlpool baths per day and using Hibiclens each time to combat an infection I had. Upon getting out of the Hospital he reccomended that I use the hibiclens twice a week and take at least one bath per day..and as many showers as I wanted. I have been taking a bath everyday and sometimes 2 and it really does help releive the pain and relax me, I even fall asleep in the tub, lol.. drives my hubby crazy! he is just sure I am gonna drown in there! LOL!! Anyway I truly believve these baths are helping, before I NEVER took a bath because I felt like the water would be too dirty and have bacteria in it that might infect me, but it doesnt appear that is the case as I have only had 1 flare up in 3 weeks! I hope it works as well for you if you do decide to get a tub, I am glad I have mine! :)

" I noticed that when I am in a lot of pain if I take a shower I feel a little bit better. I have been showering in Hibiclens for 2 yrs now. I love it! I used it everyday. I don’t take baths because I was afraid of getting an infection. But if RebeccaV hasn’t had any problems then I think I will give baths a try. Does anyone know where I can buy a HUGE JUG of hibiclens? I can only find the regular small bottles in Rite Aid. "

" I have never used hibiclens... Does it work well? If so I will try it. And I would recommend getting a tub. I love sitting in the tub when I have a flare up. It helps to calm the flare up and relax me. I always sleep well afterwards. I don't use any bubble bath or purfume oils in the tub, just in case. I do however use Epsom salt in the tub. Now if I can just keep my huzband and kids out while I bath it would be wonderful.. Any suggestions. LOL "

" I can only take showers because of a dislocated knee that never healed. I once tried to sit in a sitz bath after one of my boils burst, and I thought I was going to see the moon! Sitting in Water makes it hurt horribly. I will never do that again! "

" Punksmom,
I love my Hibiclens!! Gold dial would burn soooo bad. When I heard about hibiclens I was terrified that it would burn also, but it didn’t. It’s a red liquid that looks like cough syrup. I have cleaned some really deep holes with this and had no pain. I think it removes a lot more bacteria than regular soap. It’s $12 a bottle where I live. But well worth the money. "

" YES!! Hibiclens is a Lifesaver!! I strongly reccomend and urge you to get it and try it! My doctor has told me to use it twice a week in the tub and if I get a flare up to use it on that area twice a day until it is heled. Believe me I spent 10 days in the hospital with a systemic infection and pseudamonas in my HS wounds (pseudamonas is bad freaking bacteria that can kill you is very hard to kill and makes you smell like a rotting corpse!)Thank GOD for Hibiclens..10 days twice a day with Hibiclens and IV antibiotics and I felt (and Smelled!) a million times better! I would also order it from the link above, you get a Gallon!! for roughly $50.00 and it only takes a CAP full EACH BATH!! So you have enough for 4 months (give or take depending on how broken out you are) That site also have a smaller..almost Quart? I am guessing here..for way cheaper, but when you add it up the $50.00 one is the best buy for the money. "

" Hibiclens is the best thing ever. I tried to use some different soaps b/c Hibiclens is expensive, but it just made everything worse. I have to use it daily and right now it seems to be clearing up, but it's a vicious cycle, it'll be back. "
