I have been using heroin for a few months now, and when I started, I promised myself that I would NEVER touch a needle. Then it became, "Well, I couldn't ever hit myself, so it doesn't matter if my friend does it for me. He won't be around for much longer anyway. I can quit when he goes into rehab. Besides, I don't know anyone except him I could go through. He'd never let me get hooked." Well, I was right, he doesn't want me to go down the same road he did, but I gained access to his connection, that being a drug dealer, doesn't give a shit about me getting hooked.

So, as much as I hate myself for what I'm doing, and that I now can hit myself with absolutely no problem whatsoever. I have developed an addiction. As far as physical withdrawals go, they're not all that bad. Mostly, my withdrawals consist of agitation, nightmares, anxiety, and insomnia. I don't get physically sick, but I can't stop myself from continuing my use.

Now, I cannot let my family know that I have a drug problem because I would be cut off, I'd lose my apartment, and all my financial help. I would pretty much be out on the street. Does anybody have any ideas on affordable and discrete ways to stop killing myself? I'm terrified, and I just want to be normal again.

" First of all it's great that you can already declare youself an addict! You're above the game in that repect and should consider yourself lucky. I hope that you realize that you're an addict with all substances because that's typically the way it goes with us opiate addicts. Now you have to stop youself from chipping before you really get a habitand start really getting sick. As far as getting help that won't be known to your family that may be a different story. Won't your family know if you're gone a month or more? What kind of insurance do you have? Since you don't have a serious habit(yet) then you can do out patient treatment with suboxone just google it and find yourself a doctor. You are going to have to keep your witts about you and not lie to yourself or others. If you keep trying to get high even with suboxone then you're going to have to go to a long term care facility period! So know what're your plans? I can help you out with answers etc... "
