I want to thank the amazing people of CAST Recovery for helping me through my recovery. They are a national outpatient program that created a treatment polan for me and monitored me through my first couple months. Without their huge hearts, I would not be sober today. I owe them this- I can’t recommend them enough.

" agreed. however if someone is stuck with the problem that they cannot make it past withdrawl from there addiction and they just keep geting the drug they are addicted to because of that reason a person should use suboxone to get them past the withdrawls and then quit taking the suboxone and its a way out. It can be used as a steping stone. and suboxone is not the only steping stone to use to quit but it is the only one i know of that don't get you high. "

" know plenty of people who have gotten high of suboxone. . . Don't know ONE thats gotten off suboxone and stayed clean. The only way to not get high is not to get high. Substitution doesn't get you clean. Period. Just look at Arty from howard stern if you want a famous example of how well suboxone does NOT work!

The ONLY effective med I've ever seen help an addict get clean from opiates is Naltrexon which has NO addictive qualities at all as it works like narcan which blocks your receptors so you can't get high. But naltrexon is preventative and it helps reduce your cravings too. I am told it helps with alcohol as well but have not seen that first hand. You can't get high on this because it's not a narcotic.
