Lately I have been forgetting to take my pills until nighttime so I just take all 5 before I go to bed. I'm wondering if this has an effect on how it fights the virus?

" well i hope it isnt hindering you young'n. i used to do the same with 6 pills at once. im facing another tx and frankly im afraid of it. reminds me of a farmers story once. he had an old sow who would bust the fence. he electrified the fence. shed still charge the fence but would be squealing like a, well, pig long before contacting the fence. thats where im at. :)> "

" Scumm, go and get a pill box that has 14 compartments. 7 days with an am and a pm side. I used a pill box from day one and I never forgot a dose of pills. If I had not used that pill box it would have been a different story.

If you prefer to take them all at once, please ask your doc about that. I assume there's a reason they want us to take them about 12 hours apart. "

" scum,

i had to do the same thing that karymelly did. just fill that thing up at the beginning of the week. it's just a little thing but it'll help you.

i don't know if taking them all at once would matter? my doctor said i could take them as close as 4 hrs....

the main thing is to not EVER forget them in a 24hr period! and it sounds like you're doing that. "

" When I get up in the morning I take ALL my pills with breakfast (whatever that may be).... Then at night around/before bedtime with dinner (whatever that may be). Sometimes I barely eat but I remember to eat breakfast and dinner, so that I can take my pills.

Make it first thing in the morning when you wake up, before anything else and right before you go to bed. I have a pill box, but those things confuse me, since I don't work and rarely leave the house most times I have no clue what day it is. LMAO... Yeah, laugh now, but it's true lol.... hehehehehe...

Good luck. "

" They sent me home with a pill organizer when I started tx so I wouldn't forget. I am with KM on the belief that they want us to take them 12 hr. apart for a reason. I wouldn't mess with the schedule. "

" My doctors and the people in the roche study I'm in say... take them eight hours apart. 600 in the am and 400 in the pm.

The phamacy dude say if I miss one it will be ok because the riba stays in your system for 200 hours. Don't want to miss em thou.

Take care & maybe call the pharmacist or doctor can tell you about it. "

" Scumm. This is a serious commitment. Do you remember to brush your teeth in the morning and before you go to bed? Add the pills to your brushing ritual.
Do you drink coffee in the morning? Put your pills next to your coffee pot.
It's not a good idea to take ANY pills other than as directed. You want to build up a consistent level of the medication in your blood stream, rather than peaks and valleys.
Figure out a way to discipline yourself to take those pills in the a.m. "

" Now I'm scared enough to discipline myself. I haven't ever forgot to take them in 24 hours but I am nauseous all day and can't eat and then I remember before I go to bed and take them all. Well I will not be doing that anymore, I only have 6 more weeks so hopefully that is enough to sustain a better method. I really hope some of the decisions I made during this treatment will not effect my SVR. "
