I'm sure some of you heard about our last-minute decision to get together in Dallas this weekend.
Mema met her son in Dallas. DebBear drove up from places south with her husband. MartyTx drove down from places north with his wife. I flew into Dallas from places east, was picked up by my sister, and we all met for the weekend. It's just that easy, when folks who have been DS friends for a long time, can get together and meet in person. We ate until we couldn't stand the sight of food. We had some surprises.,.... Mema is about 6 feet tall and built like a line-backer. She has full sleeve tattoos on both arms. Actually, she made her ex-marine son look puny. Bear was as wide as she was tall, roly-poly fat old bear. I know. I was shocked. Marty looks nothing like his picture. In fact, he's black and has buggy eyes. Not that he wasn't handsome and clever..... it just surprised me that non of us knew. His wife was a doll. Had to walk 3 feet behind him and never made eye contact with anyone, but I'm sure it was a more of a cultural thing than a history of emotional abuse. I'm sure I was the greatest surprise. I actually DO look exactly like Elle from Kill Bill, played by Daryll Hannah. They couldn't believe it. Anyway, we had a great day and a half together, and all are headed home except Mema. I'm in the Dallas airport waiting for my 2:30 flight back to reality. OOOPs. My gate's just been changed. Y'all really need to try to get together whenever you get a chance. We had a great time. Mcslo..................not sure who you're talking to there....but we all met in TexASS........one came from Florida, one from PA and 2 from TexASS.
Mema went to visit her son in DallASS and thats what got the ball rolling:)
