i am at about 18 weeks into the tx and i have extremely dry mouth all the time. the other night i noticed my tongue has purple patches on it and i have a sore-kinda more like an extra piece of skin on the inside of my mouth. that area is tender and swelling a little more every day. i guess if it continues, i'll have to call the dentist (i hate to do that, it's so expensive). anyone have any advice or anything like this?

" Again, I have no idea..possibly you have thrush? If so, some tincture of violet should help.
Whatever it is, it is probably caused by tx...call your doc "

" Biotene tooth paste and mouth wash is made for dry mouth. YOu can get in at walmart or drug store.
Ask your hep dr as well. My NP told me to use the nasal spray Flonase, (need px) and spray it on mouth, and it should help.
My mouth would get really sore during tx, and I finally elimated sweet, salty, tart and spicy from my diet, and that helped me a bunch. 4 weeks off tx, and I thought it would not be an issue, and I ate Hot Tamales, and my mouth blistered again.
Gargle with warm salt water, for now. Maybe you will get some relief. "

" there is a mouthwash for dry mouths that seems to help me a lot. I have the same problems, the dry mouth, I hold a gulp of water in my mouth until I need to speak or something. I got the mouthwash at the health food store. It is important to keep it moist.. "
