And yes a band aid will keep him safe

The blood is only transmitted from an infected person to another person if both have open wounds.

Just put a band aid on it and be careful, but he can only get infected if it goes into an open wound of his.

Blood and dried blood (also consider that a scab is dried blood) is viable and can infect a person up to 4 days.

So while covering your wound is sufficient, you would need to make sure that you keep the bandaid fresh and leak free. I've found that investing in pricier, thicker bandaids does the trick. My hubby likes the stretchy kind.

As for shaving though, have you considered an electric razor for less change of cuts and nicks?

HCV can only be transmitted blood to blood. A band-aid is fine a precaution. I'd suggest not sharing razors or toothbrushes to minimize any likelihood of transmission

If you take more time shaving you wont cut yourself..I dont at all anymore and when i did afterwards scold hot shower for ten minutes

Remember the virus lives on inanimate surfaces.
Keep covered, clean up after yourself, tell fiance to practice good hygene - hand washing.

Next time try "Smooth Away" pads - you can get a kit at the drugstore. No risk of shaving cuts that way!
