right now it hurts to type this. something weird happened last night and i have no idea what's going on with me.
when i got up i almost fell over cause i didn't realize that my ankles were swollen and the tops and bottoms of my feet hurt! wtf. made it to the bathroom and then i noticed that my wrists were swollen and hurt too! this has never happened to me before? (in treatment i thought maybe i had neurophathy but it was nothing like this!!!) called a friend who is a nurse and she was flippant and said 'oh it's that duck you had at the tai place. you're prob. just having a reaction to the msg." but like this?! she said to take a bath in epsom salt and drink lots of green tea. i took two aspirins but had to get the bottle open with my teeth! then an hour later took two benedryls. just to see what would happen? then i put ice on my wrists and that's not helping! my temp is 100..almost 101 right now. my ankeles are better than they were this morning. not so swollen. but it hurts to walk and my wrists still hurt. can't even hold the t-pot. i hve to hold it with both hands then kinda maneuver it strangly to pour the tea. and i could't barely get out of the tub! could not use my hands at all to push myself up? maybe this is a reaction to msg? has this ever happened to anybody? mikeinthedesert and i started about the same time and i know he's going through a lot of stuff so this makes me wonder if it's a side-effect of treatment? well, i'm going back to bed. hope this makes sense. just don't feel good at all. will check back in a few hours. thanks...q Posted on 11/07/09, 07:11 pm |

If you don't feel better in a little while I would call the emergency doctor on call. Most people when they are dehydrated have this problem, swollen ankles or wrists. Make sure your drinking alot of water!

Keep an eye on that temperature. If you have a fever seek medical attention. Could be a reaction, could be arthritis. I have had bad arthritis flare ups ever since TX ended. I don't have a fever though

Gee, I have no idea about msg reactions. You may be retaining all that water? Call your doc!

if you lie on your back on a concrete floor it will pull the fever from your body. this im sure of. good luck, sounds scary.

It could be the msg, sounds as if your retaining water. If you have water pills take them. Otherwise drink coffee to make you go to the bathroom. Compression socks are helpful. Tell your doctor as it could be a problem, but you havent said your having a problem breathing. Watch your salt intake and elivate your leggs, as this will help.

msg is salt and salt makes you retain water. Dont eat lunch meat or things containing alot of salt. I always have had this problem, I wear teb or compression socks or take water pills. Give a call to your doctor Im sure he will give you water pills

hi,
i've been in bed all day. feeling a tad better. typing is a little easier. drinking this tea that supposed to be good to help water retention. and i'm drinking water. but probably not as much as i need to. i'll keep at it. if i start getting worse i'll definately call the doctor or go to the urgent care. something. i hope its just a reaction to the msg and not something really serious? i remember sockfuzz saying that if you get an autoimmune disease from treatment that it's not reversable? sigh. capnhardass, i can't go lay on the patio floor! i'm achey all over! my temp is hovering around 100. i'll jst keep drinking the water. i think your trying to kill me! hahahahahaha at least you made me laugh. just looked at my face and it's still puffy. so i guess i'm not drinking enough? and so are my wrists. i feel like i'm back in treatment! aaauuuggggggghhhhhhhhhhh! and think maybe i have several things going on...maybe the flu, maybe msg poisoning or maybe some sort of strange arthritic something or another. if my temp goes up for sure i'll go to urgent care if i can't get ahold of my doctor. going to bed. night you guys. thanks...sorry to come on here a be so pitiful...but i feel pitiful..
