fishy oil

Recently I've been told by 3-4 docs to take fish oil for depression. So I started taking it. Does anyone have any experience with this being helpful (or not).

Also, I found out that the vegetable sources of omega's are not the same. The fish oil has omega's and also the components for mood and brain function: EPA and DHA. (Don't ask me what they stand for!). Vegetable sources don't have these.

" I used to take that stuff. It's supposed to be good for your memory. Problem is, after awhile you burp up this ridiculous fish smell. Felt like I was sharing a toothbrush with a largemouth bass. "

" I take it and lecithin along with a handful of vitamins . They make an enteric coated fish oil now so you do not get the fishy after taste but , it costs more so I still go for the regular old fish taste variety. Both are supposedly really good for cellular growth. "
