After-noon Everyone,
I have now hit a new low!! While I was at work this morning I peed my PANTS. Not just a dribble but a full on release. Been having some bladder problems for the last couple of months but didn't think to much of it. Woke up about 4 times last night and had to pee so bad nearly didn't make it to the bathroom (many of other nights I haven't made it) had some pressure but not alot of pain that usually goes along with a bladder infection. I know in the past though that it can start off like that and then within hours it's a full on infection. So needless to say I had to get my husband to pick me up at work and first take me home to change clothes and then off to the dr. They did a urine test and didn't see any infection but said they would send to the lab for further testing. They also have now tested me for diabeties!!!! Not happy!!! If that comes back negative I will have to go to a incontinence clinic and to some testing. I spoke to my hep nurse and apparently this is not related to the meds. I am totally stressed and not to mention humiliated.. While is was in the bathroom at work crying my eyes out my boss (who is also suppose to be my best friend) had the nerve to ask me why I was so upset and said well at least it's not lung cancer. If I could have reached out of the stall I probably would have punched her in the face. I haven't felt this lonely, depressed and scared in along time. I don't really have a question just needed to get this off my chest. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Debbie

" Hi. I just wanted to say, that while on my Tx ( I'm 49 yr old female, on Tx with Victrelis)...I have peed inmy pants, but so far, only at home. That's where I drink the most water, and it happens when I am taking a trip to the bathroom, late at night. Not just a drip, but I soak my underwear.
I'm not on any other meds, but I notice this tends to happen, about 48 hrs after my Interferon shot, usually. This had never happended to me before Tx, either. Also, every night, as soon as I take my last dose of Victrelis and riba, around 11 pm, I lie down,to go to bed, and then end up making trips to the bathroom every 45 minutes, until morning.
I am usually fine, during the day-time. I think the Tx meds affect the kidneys, whichis why we are told to drink so much water. "

" Oh...so sorry to hear. I hope that you get full resolution on this issue and that you can laugh about it some day....we know it's not today. Keep us posted though...happens to many...bladder incontinence. My mom has been dealing with that for a little while and she has been changing her fluid intake. I see it a lot with patients that I work with too...for many it resolves and it can be a transient thing. There are neurological studies that can be done to help find a cause I know. If they don't figure it out then ask if you should see Neuro. Keep us posted...big hug to you Debbie. Don't drink too much before bed time. "

" Thank you everybody for all the great advise. Had another accident last night in the middle of the night. Running out of clothes!!! On the bright side. I just came back from the dr. again and it seems I do have a bladder infection. So I am on anti biotecs and drinking lots of cranberry juice. Hopefully I will be feeling better in a day or two. At least I don't have to go back to work til Wednesday. Now I am going back to bed!!!
Thanks hugs to you all.

" I had the bladder infection as well.....
Take the full script even if you feel better, that's how it works.....many peeps stop mid script.

I am very mind full of how I wipe myself so to prevent an infection....that's not the only way to get one, but ya can...UTI anyway... I too pee myself, and am on week 34 trp Incivek peg/copeg.
Try to
a) not take riba after 6pm.....Chk w Dr. Also helps w better sleep.
B) not to drink water 1/2 hr before returing to bed.
C) avoid diruetic foods
D) go to restroom often, you know you are drinking water. The bladder may not give you your signal, but you do know ya gotta go sometime lol. I must work on this one too. Peed last Sat.... Not pretty.
Every time I void ( urinate) I drink at least 6-8 oz of water when I finish to replete the water passed.
Pads are a very good suggestion and will give you some peace of mind.
As for the employer, you can pull aside and gently say you are experiencing some challenging sides. Mention you are on a chemotherapy that melanoma and non- hodgkins lymphoma patients take; because you are.....and ask if they can understand where you are at. That ought to put the kabosh on it and compassion will no doubt follow. I did this multiple times and it has been a Godsend.

Hugs and good health, jibs "

" About the last Riba....I found that if I took it at night as the nurse instructed (her idea was to try and sleep through the nastiness) that it kept me awake all night. I didn't sleep a wink for a week I'm sure!

So I switched that up just to see if indeed, it was the clprit. I started eating a bowl of canned peaches (in heavy syrup) at about 3:30 in the afternoon, then take the Riba no later than 4:00 ( I took my first Riba in the morning with my Incevik at 5AM) The peaches help with the stomach upset. Since I've been doing that, I sleep well, except for the bathroom 1 or 2 times a night. That's getting better too since I have cut off my water intake at about 7PM and just take a bottle of water in when I go to bed. Sometimes I have to drink water during the night, sometimes not so much. "

" Thank goodness it's just a bladder infection which can be treated. I know, I can no longer jump on a trampoline or laugh really hard while standing, or drip drip drip! I think Jane Fonda is a spokes woman for some type of liners or panties? As we get older, the tissues of our bladder get thinner and thinner.
One good suggestion (they are all good) is to do keagals! U can do them anywhere, especially while stuck in traffic or at ur desk.
And yes, be sure to drink cranberry juice (real not cocktail) and to eat yogurt w/active live cultures to prevent yeast infection from antis. Good luck and so happy u do not have to worry!!! Peace Love and Light Always~ "
