Could it , or would it be back?????

Firstly, can I just say what an awesome site! It just brought a feeling of acceptance to me!

My question is your thoughts on re-occurance of the virus after spontaneously clearing it.

After a year of negative pcr's they gave me the all clear, that was in 2004

I've lived in fear for the last 5 years that it's back. Everything on me that changes, I think is caused by hcv, from a broken capillary to and ear infection. I've had numerous LFT's and they've all been fine, thing is, Im terrified of getting another test just incase it comes back positive ..... i dont think i'd be ready for that.

So has anybody heard of someone testing negative over a year after spontaneously clearing hep c and testing positive again??? Do you think it's likely?

Cheers

" Hope I'm doing this right!

I was Geno 1, not sure if it was a or b.
After the hell you go through when your first told, to the joy when your clear, I don't know why in my head I just can't let it rest. Maybe it;s the fear of it not being real, I don't know. I know have LFT's is not an accurate way of telling the progression of the disease, but I have often had them with all in the normal ranges. Maybe I need to relax a bit!! "

" yes zeta, try to put it out of your mind. you can become physically ill by worrying needlessly. even if hcv recurred on you stress would be a detriment to your health. were all going to get old, develope diseases and die. crappy deal, but its all we have. "

" If your still clear after 6mnths post tx for the disease then you have less than a 1% chance of relasping. If your still clear after a yr your considered a SVR and if your clear after 5yrs then your considered "cured". I would stop worrying so much its not good for your body. Maybe talk to your doctor about your anxiety and get on some medication for it, I also have very bad anxiety and it can make your mind spin out of control, if you let it. "
