i have a routine ct scan every couple of years to check for pollyps, lesions, tumors etc on my liver. ive read that a liver transplant doesnt happen until a liver is cancerous. gotta trust your dr sometimes, they operate from strict govt guidelines. good luck.

Are you kidding? Where can I check out the guidelines, Fed and State also I imagine?

i suppose the ama and fda produce most criteria but the doctors dont make it up as they go. they run appropriate tests then react according to those test results. sometimes what we feel is an unnecessary test is a doctor covering all the bases and ultimately his own ass. i read books on bipolar illness to try to understand my ex's mindset. the most thorough and detailed were the government publications. i trust the govt cept for gwb, he should be hanged in baghdad town square..

I know why they're testing and all what surprised me is your saying that the liver has to be cancerous before they'll transplant. I'm curious now to see what the guidelines are in my state. So far I know you have to have a meld score of 15 or higher. Hanging is to good for GWB. He should be hung upside down, have his skin peeled off and be made to listen to his own rhetorical drivel 24/7.
