The only adice I would give is this - learn all you can about HCV, standard treatment, new promising drugs, and alternative methods.
Follow a liver friendly lifestyle & diet. Take milk thistle. What is your geno type? 1A is most difficult to tx. I am also stage 3 liver. I do not want cirrhosis. I tried tx, it didn't work for me. I am a non responder. Very grateful I tried tx. It was worth a "shot", LOL....

From what I have heard the lower viral load the better the
chance TX (treatment) will work. At the same time the higher the stage you are at the harder it will be to clear the virus. As for myself Viral load was 2,500,000 Geno type1a I do not know what stage I was at no biopsy was done. AST was high normal ALP was high normal but GGT was 6 time normal. Treatment did work for me. Treatment is no walk in the park It can be hell for some people.

If you have a low viral count thats good for treatment, because you have a better chance of clearing it. I would go ahead with treatment stage 3 damage can only be slowed down or stopped by treatment, otherwise the disease will progress faster.

I look at it this way: Which side effect is nastier? Flu like symptoms or death? Just a thought.

i'd do treatment if i were you. better now than later.
except! there is a new treatment protocol coming out in a year or so that has a higher % of clearing the virus! so you might want to wait until that comes on the market and do that! i think i would cause it'll be out fairly soon. i've heard it's just like what we all did one added medication. so you'd be doing interferon injections, ribaviron pills with a third medication added. i don't know what that 3rd thing is. you might write to "gatorbuzz" on here cause i think he knows? welcome to DS!
