I fear the treatment becomming to sick to work.
I also fear telling my exhusband so he can have our kids tested I fear he might use this to keep the kids away from me.But I know I must for the kids well being.
I have yet to tell anyone other then my sister I hope to go thru this ordeal with out anyone knowing.
I fear not being here to see my kids become great adults, parents etc.
I think way to much and pray often. I need some reasurrance that I can lead a long full life.

" Hi Kat...

I am a bit older than you (54) and I found out about my Hep C last year. I'm a geno 1b and I just finished up 48 weeks of treatment about 11 weeks ago. I evidently have had it ever since I was 2 days old from a blood transfusion. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that it will all work out. Just take it one step at a time.

Did you have a liver biopsy? If so, what was your result?

You don't necessarily have to tell your ex to get the kids tested but, if for some reason you do have to tell him, it will be okay...he can't keep the kids away from you for having Hep C.

I have 3 adult children and they were all born when I unknowingly had Hep C and all of them are negative. My hubby is negative and my ex hubby is negative. It's really not at all common to pass it to other household members or through sex.

Don't be afraid of treatment if your doc suggests treatment. I worked all through my 48 weeks of treatment. It was not "fun" but it is "doable."

If you have any questions, let me know...I can certainly tell you things about my experience.

I remember how scared I was when I first found out about my Hep C and I just wanted to let you know that it will be okay...the scariness wears off when you begin to realize the life goes on and things really don't change much even when you have Hep C. I wish you the best. "

" kat definately take the treatment. if you dont have a very physical job you may do fine working. i dont hide hcv from anyone. the disease needs more faces representing it. your kids will never leave your side even if mortal risk was present, which its not. secure your own personal toiletries, including your hairbrush n theres no way in hell your kids will contract it. you will not crappie off from hcv. ive carried it for 31 yrs, and liver is still only stage 3 fibrosis. sorry to write a book but i tried to answer multiple questions..
