Any one talk to their Doc about getting flu shots while on tx. I would hate to add a flu to this. I’m on week 2. I was supposed to have a week 2 appointment with the Doc but they can’t fit me in until the end of week 4. I know I would'nt get a flu shot before my next labs

I asked my doctors several times and they said get the flu shot.
I'm going today to get it, my first one ever. I really don't want to add problems to tx & there is a bad flu epidemic going on here now.

I know when I was on treatment, my PCP was against giving me the flu shot.
In this day and age, you wouldn't caught me dead taking any of their experimental vaccine. My opinion, Thank you

I understand both sides of the debate about vaccinations but I do have to add that I do not believe vaccinations are created to harm us.
In 1953, my dad contracted polio and lost the use of his legs from it. The vaccination came out about 6 months after that. He never complained about his shriveled and useless legs but I know he would have given anything to have had the vaccination available to him earlier so he wouldn't have gotten polio. If you have ever seen a loved one suffer (or die) from a disease for which there is now a vaccination it gives you a different perspective on things.

I got my first flu shot, the last week of tx. I didn't feel anything, and I know with my low blood counts, I'm sure to be susceptible to germs.
My dr said I should get it. I usually don't get the flu, but just don't want to take any chances getting sick this year.

Yet but your immune system is highly vulnerable with Hep and tx. My gastroenterologist, internal medicine doc, nuerologist.... I could go but you get the point.... all specialists and all reccomend the flu shot.

Had the flu shot in the first couple of months of tx - about 5 months ago...no problems..we are heading into summer here
Today I have been advised by the director of internal medicine not to to have the H1N1 though while on Tx.

I got my flu shot...didn't hurt, no side effects either.
As you probably know the flu effects the elderly and the children the worst so getting a flu shot could be to save a life! I don't think I've heard of anyone dying from a flu shot have any of you. My dad gets it and he is 81, been getting it for years.
