Any one talk to their Doc about getting flu shots while on tx. I would hate to add a flu to this. I’m on week 2. I was supposed to have a week 2 appointment with the Doc but they can’t fit me in until the end of week 4. I know I would'nt get a flu shot before my next labs

Definitely best to check with your doc but my doc told me to definitely get the regular flu shot when I was on treatment last fall and I did get one. I did not get sick from it. I am now 10 weeks post treatment and I got the regular flu shot a few weeks ago and I did not get sick from it.
Be sure to get your doc's input on whether or not to get the regular flu shot and the H1N1 flu shot. At the current time, only certain people are supposed to be getting the H1N1 due to the supply. Your doc will know if you are one of them. Also, once a person gets the regular flu shot, they must wait a month prior to getting the H1N1 shot (if they get it).

Get your flu shot as soon as you can. There is absolutely no reason at all for you to take a chance of getting flu, especially while on tx.
I was reminded several times by my specialist to get my flu shots every time they were available. Don't leave yourself open for more sickness - who wants to get the flu while on tx which causes flu-like feelings? That's just nuts. Here, I know that I can move to the head of the line for a flu shot because of hep. As soon as the shots are available I go into the dr's office for my flu shot. Blue

My doc told me the flu shot can interfere with treatment, so I'm not gonna chance it, but other doctors disagree with her, so who knows.

I am on #3 and had my flu shot last week. My arm was a little sore and I had a little higher fever than normal...but other than that it wasn't a biggee. Took the shot ~ Per Dr. orders. Did not take the SWINE FLU shot...I have different thoughts on that one. I think the Gov is behind it...that's a story for another day. Good luck to you!

I think the moral of the story here is to follow your doc's recommendations.
