Hello,

Im still waiting on my confirmation blood test results becuase I tested reactive for hep c ab. They say your liver doesnt hurt but i feel this dull pain like a mild hernia type on the lower right side of my body radiating towards the thigh a little. It pinches at times. Can this mean that my hep is alot worse? My first symptoms were like maybe 3 years ago but i ignored it till now. Are 3 years a good amount of time to really damage the liver? Also I was wondering is a liver bipsy dangerous like would it further damage the liver in some way?

Most times I feel like i've been diagnosed, red flagged for life and everyone will look at me with shame. I only make it through the day by thinking okay its to test my will and fight it and not care because this is what i'm now faced with and cant look back just keep moving forward and if someone does think of me funny then I dont need them in my life anyway.

" the folks on DS have given you some good advise already. what i'd like to add is that i'm in a clinical trial and the peolpe are wonderful, all the meds, labs and docs are taken care of, if it wasn't for this trail i wouldn't be able to have treatment. so find a good doc then ask about clinical trails in your area, if treatment is the way you want to go.
good luck
hugs susa "

" Ricky I had 1A too and cleared at week 15. Yes, the geneotype is harder to get rid of, but you can do it. And you've got plenty of support here! "

" Hang in there Ricky. My fiance was diagnosed in July with 1a and has just finished his second shot. Dont give up. Even though its more resistant to treatment, that doesn't mean you cant beat it. Try to stay as positive as possible. You will have tons of support on DS. Ask any question you have and someone will be able to help. Good luck to you. "

" Ricky,
Genotype 1A is the most common rather than the most aggressive.
I also have 1A.

What's that viral load number? If you ever don't understand what info you are told by your dr, ASK

Also, the liver biopsy is not harmful to your liver; please know that there are non-instrusive tests that can be done instead of an actual needle in the liver biopsy, so just ask your dr about it. "
