just wondering do they do a liver biopsy before starting the interferon drugs? and does this procedure hurt?

Different for everyone. The needles they gave me to numb me is what hurt. Also, after the procedure my shoulder was absolutely killing me because of a nerve. They told me beforehand my shoulder may hurt and that's why. I was given Tylenol and was fine afterward. Not a pleasant procedure, but it's quick. I had to spend 3 hours in recovery to make sure there was no internal bleeding.

Mine wasn't too bad, but they made me wait 5 hrs before I could go home. Didn't hurt much the next day and they numbed me for the procedure.....
