" Finally, my doc has returned my calls, appt for Thurs to get med's for joint pain. I had no serious sides effects up 'til June, the pain was quite debilitating. Now, the pain just travels from joint to joint....always a surprise....however, hands are basically a constant. Truly, i know i can handle the pain, sickness, etc. It's the emotionally balance in there - this whole month has been extremely chaotic, fridge conking out, wood rot on house, playing daughter, wife, friend, 14yr cuz with serious cancer, yadda, yadda.....and yes, we all have our fair share of prob's - my just happened during my worst-yet month of tx - i blew off my steam - thx :-P GOD BLESS to each and everyone! " ya i asked my doc if i could possibly stop early and her answer was no. The reason why I had to find out by myself is because each and every ribavirin pill you take builds up in your system and it takes 48 weeks for geno 1a and then the pills will last in your system for 6 months after you finish treatment and continue to fight it off. The old treatment was 72 weeks I believe but now we can do it in 48 weeks because the combo will last longer in the system. I know it sucks so much, the joint pain, etc, but you have to love it because it is saving your life. If you are undetectable at 5-6 weeks then you have a 90% chance of being in remission for good. why would you chance that???? you have an out of this, and sooner before you know it this will be over and you will be going on with your life, just be grateful that you have that opportunity and probably won't have to go through this again. I am so grateful for that and that is what gets me through this. "
