" Well, I want to quit to, but I've come to far to stop, and maybe have to do it all over again? I'm undie, to...but, I'll try to stick it out. What did your dr say? DO they want to stop the tx on you? Are you 48 or 24 weeks? Hang in there....you can do it! "

" There are varying opinions on that subject it seems anymore. Some people have quit early, after they cleared either , due to the TX not treating them well or their doctor saying that there was no need to go the full term of their TX. My Hepatologist is adamant that I finish the whole 6 months period even though I am Geno 2 and went from 31,100,000 to undetectable in 4 weeks and 12 weeks. I am counting the days until I am done which is soon. I can not wait to feel better but , I would not take a chance cutting the TX short and have a chance that the virus could come back as I do not want to do this crap again..... "

I know its rough, I will be doing it again. Finish your time get it over with. More than likely you will clear and stay clear. Most do. Good luck to you, time will go by fast, hugs, barb "

" Oh, dearie, please don't quit! Even though your VL is UND that does NOT mean it's gone yet. It hides in places other than the blood. I see you are a geno 1 and you will need 48 weeks of treatment, not just 5 months. What week did you become UND?

I'm in week 43 of 48 and I know the feeling you are having right now but it will pass! Hang in there. Since you are geno 1 (like me) the only chance we have is to do the full course -- it's tough enough to beat geno 1 even with the full course so don't stop.

What symptoms are you having that are starting to push you over the edge? Maybe we can help with suggestions for them. "

" Thx Everyone..........KaryMelly: this entire month i've experienced the worst joint pain imaginable...and in EVERY f'n joint i didn't know i had! Muscle aches, fatigue (i last from when i get up at 5:30ish 'til about 1-2p...going in extremely LOW gear all the way and feel like i've been pommeled by a Mack truck ....over and over and over again - OH! Take more pills, shot tomorrow nite - don't know what # i'm on anymore....does it really matter at this point?? I have no intensions of ever giving up.......this is all doable, with GOD ....am soooo lucky He has the patience of Job - HA! I think my husbands gonna need a loooooong vacation (away from me) after all this - i reeeally try to keep my "moaning" down to a minimum. Just the random shart shooting pains throw me for a loop at times. Constant battle between mind and body. PRAYER, PRAYER AND MORE PRAYERS. I'M ALWAYS thinking of everyone else that's going thru the same BS....and guess what, i PRAY, AND pray MORE. It's working! I will not quit! "

" After 6 months of tx my VL is undetectable. My doc said "congratulations". To those of you who are having trouble with the nasty side effects, namely the joint pain, try this. I took my shot just before I crawled under the sheets at night. I slept through it all and had no complaints. If you are having trouble sleeping ask for a prescription for a non-narcotic sleeping pill, like Ambien or Sonata. Whatever you do, no matter how much better you feel or get an early undectable VL (it happened to me)DO NOT STOP TX!! If you had an infection and your dr gave you some medicine you have to finish the medicine to get the full result. If you had a flat tire and put air in it you would fill it completely, wouldn't you? Even though a 3/4 full tire would propably get you to where you are going, but the tire would probally be ruined. Hang in there. It will be over before you know it. Linda "

" So your undetectable. That mean there are less than
10 virus copy to a milliliter of blood.
So let say there are 5 copy's to a milliliter of blood.( that's Undetectable)
That would mean there are 25,000 copy's of the virus in your blood
if just 1 survive you will not stay undetectable.
so finish TX "

" You have to finish your recommended amount of tx to keep the virus away. Weither its 24weeks or 48weeks if you don't finish your at a higher risk of the virus coming back. "

" I'm sorry that there's so much pain for you with treatment. Are you able to take any pain relievers? I had joint pain during my first few weeks of TX but, thank goodness, it stopped. I'm hoping your pain will eventually lessen too -- it seems we never know what treatment is going to do one day to the next so it is possible it might just fade.

That's great that you were UND at 5 or 6 weeks in -- all the more reason to keep going because the earlier you are UND the better the chance for SVR after 48 weeks. "
