Advice:
Should I get baby tested....

Okay guys I am probably just freaking myself out but I thought I would ask your advice. About 8 or 9 months ago my 1 year old bit his sister on the lip (she is my hep c positive child). She pulled away when he chomped down and after a couple of seconds began to bleed. There was absolutley NO blood on his lip or mouth but we washed it out with soap and water anyway. I called the pediatrician the very next day and he said it was nothing to worry about that if the baby even got a microscopic amount of blood on his tooth that would be a very unlikely route of transmission as there are NO known cases of it being transmitted in the mouth. There are a couple of instances of transmission after a large amount of blood was splashed into the eye... I am trying not to worry but time and again it comes into my brain. What do you guys think. He has his 2 year old check up on Friday so I may just have him tested to make sure but I need your reassurance to calm my nerves.... Have you guys ever heard of anyone getting it from a household member like that? Thanks for everything you have done so far.... You guys are fabulous....

" No he just chomped down when he was kissing her. I think she caused the damage when she pulled away. She did not start bleeding for a few seconds and he had no sores or tears on lips or in mouth. We washed it out immediately.... "

" I wouldn't worry about it, but I know what it is like to loose sleep over this stuff. You'll probably only feel better once you know for sure... "

" It was overf 9 months ago so I am pretty sure the antibody would show up. I am going to talk to the pediatrician on Friday as well as BreAnna's Hep doctor on Wednesday. If he says test then you bet I will just to be sure and let me sleep at night. I am 99.9 percent sure that there is no way he could have gotten it that way but that .1 percent can make a mommy crazy.... "
