Kind of personal but what did you use for birth control during TX? My doctor told me to stop using oral contraceptives as they hard for the liver to process. Also, I still want to have another baby. He says after 6 months off it will be okay but it makes me nervous. Lastly, if you "clear" the virus does that mean it's gone for good? Thanks all.

" I wish I could tell you that if you clear that the virus is gone for good. If you are undetectable at 6 months there is a very good chance that you will remain so. (undetectable) There are schools of thought that think a small amount of virus always remains. We are not able to donate blood. But undectable is our goal and TX is our chance. I know you don't want to get pregnant during TX---what does your doctor suggest? "

" i would use one of those long-lasting types of birth control that will protect you until you are well past all of this..........you don't want to take any chances!

it's never gone for good, but i've had 2 kids since having hep in high school, and they are both fine. they did a hep screen both times and didn't find anything, so it must hide pretty good while in remission! "
