hi
i have been an inactive carrier of hepatitis b since i was a kid my mother has never really told me much about it except for the fact that i shouldnt drink too much i have asked ppl from std clinics about this and they dont seem really too expert about this and give me some sort of winging it type answers because obviously they are much more focused on hiv i have never taken any medication, i have been inactive since forever, what is my infectivity level towards my sex partners if i got oral sex from a girl, what is the likelihood of me passing something to her, my mom has never said anything to me about sex, my uncle told me that the only difference between us (many family members have this) is that we can't donate blood anyway i am just frustrated becuase i just met the girl of my dreams and i really do not need this hanging over my head, and if i am not infectious, i really dont want to freak her out or scare her off over something stupid anybody who might be in the same status as me, any advice would be great Posted on 10/26/09, 05:10 am |

now i have this hanging over my head just when i am so close to happiness it's hard enough for me to get a girl as it is i really did not need this mom never really discussed it except to not drink, nobody ever told me i could transmit it sexually anyway, any advice would be great.........bless you all

don't be mad my friend. i know how you feel but even you were mad yo can't changed it. i've been diagnosed in 2005 but ireally do not know if i am infected since birth really do not know when its started . But here I am still alive, happy sometimes worried. my husband still tested negative till now but everytime we had sex i always tell him that i am worried about you but he don't care whatever i have. he still loves me now and forever. he never changed. the only person you could trust is your own doctor and most of all don't forget HIM the father almighty okay. so goodluck and please don't be upset or mad. face it and work for it okay. have a nice day.

You should practice safe sex. she must take her vaccination first to get safe even though you are inactive carrier. Just to be safe, you dont want her to get infected because you love her right? So do your part so that when two of you do want to settle your child will not get infected also. Get her a vaccine and tell her the truth. Learn the disease my friend :) goto Hepb.org for more info....
