Psychological Effect of HBV

I'm still inside the acute window of six months. I spoke with the hepatitis b foundation (hepb.org) and they advised me that the test to see if immunity has developed or chronic stage has begun should be six months from the diagnosis. I am fairly sure of where I was exposed and it took me 3.5 months to develop symptoms. I am now near 7 months from exposure and 3 months from diagnosis. I have been monitoring my liver functions with tests every 3-4 weeks. I use prepaidlabs.com and no doctors are involved with my care. I order my own tests and interpret the results with the help of the internet and hepb.org. My last hepatic functions panel was normal. I am nearing the 4 week mark since those last tests.

This virus has really taken it out of me in many ways. The fatigue has been tough enough but the psychological effect is crippling to me. I have not even hardly left the house. I go to the grocery store or to get tests and that is all. I have no social life whatsoever. Being HBV+ has made me feel like damaged goods. I am in a state of limbo.

Yesterday I decided that I couldn't wait to see if I've cleared. I ordered the tests and will likely give a specimen mid next week and know hopefully by Friday. If the antigens are still present I will hope and pray that they're gone by the time the 6 month window closes in November.

Is there anyone here that has had a similar experience? I would like to find someone I can talk to about this stuff.

Thanks for listening.

" talk to us and it might help to involve docs and maybe some counseling, oh I remember the fatigue and I was fortunate enough to get all the symptoms times four in the initial infection.............yuk

Hiding in the house does not really seem to be good for you (to me anyway) even during initial infection I still forced myself to work and do as much regular stuff as possible, I had egg yolk yellow eyes with white face for Halloween and am still convinced I was infected at work but was ignored and bosses were horrible to me so used to enjoy projectile vomiting on them.....................:) "

" man! i hope u get some doctor involved in your care . this disease is a bitch and its tricky. For whatever its worth, i wish you the best and for your information, you need to stay clear of boooze and junk food. Allow your liver to do the least amount of work as much as possible. this will be your new adopted life style. Am living this and its not fun, even though i try to remain normal on the outside. "
