I'm 41 years old and have had hep B from childhood. I was never told of the dangers of hep B and lived normally. Now I have found out that there is a high change of developing liver cancer as I have a high viral load and never had any treatment before. I'm on screening (AFP and US) now.

I cannot sleep well at the moment and am having nightmares of getting a positive result for liver cancer. I need help to cope as my job is very stressful as well. I know I have to overcome the mental and emotional part but how? I'm so afraid for my 3 young kids and my wife if I were to leave them. Would love to hear how others cope.

" Welcome..................................jeez I wish I had an answer for you, I have found out I am "chronic" and not "acute" as I had been Dx. originally twenty something years ago, I think the stress of the economy and my job and school etc., etc., etc., is what caused me to be "active' again, I try to keep as stress free as possible but ha-ha-ha, I just don't do anything to jeopardize my liver, Am still working on quitting smoking.................................hugs............... " Listen!! the liver is a powerful organ, it detects everything we eat, smell, activity and your mental state. The last thing you want to do is get stressed too much especially when you have children. You have to be a soldier in this case. Accept you disease, your back is to the wall, its your time to fight, winning this battle is subjective. you can win by making changes to fight this disease.
Do not stress mentally because you liver will stress "

" Stay calm and relax. Read a bible and you will see and god will comforted you. I've did it many time. When I was newly diagnosed of HBV my uncle (also my doctor) told me that I must also checked for HIV to be sure so I've took the test and I can't slept at night my whole body is coming to be cold and sweating. It was a horrible experience I've ever had. What I did is, I read the bible and it gave me a comfort and freedom of mind. Trust him, trust the creator of the universe. Go under his wing and you will find peace my friend. "
