Hi, I am hep b carrier since child. I do not need to use treatment and go to see doctor every year and make sure my virus is inactive. Recently i met this guy i like very much. We kissed but no sex yet, so i told him i am carrier. his blood test show he is not infected yet, so he is starting to take vaccination. but his doctor told him to end relationship with me because i did not tell him before kiss.

All I can say is if it was ok with him that you didn't tell him before, It's none of his docs business.

But back to your original question hep-b cannot be spread thru casual contact, what I read didn't mention saliva or kissing either way, but I would assume that is included in casual contact. If I am wrong someone please correct me.........................................

The American Liver foundation says contracting hep-b thru kissing is possible but highly unlikely, so I would consider kissing pretty low risk................................................

i would only worry about infecting your partner if there are open sores in your mouth... saliva, as far as i know, will not spread the virus. any presence of blood due to recent dental work, bleeding gums, etc however does raise the risk and can cause u to spread the virus to him...
as far as the dr who told him to end the relationship with u, well that's just stupid. if you had done something to cause harm, or infect him then sure but being you took proper precautions and when the time was right in your relationship when u felt that things would go to the next level ie sexual relations u did tell him.. i don't see anything wrong in that. once he is vaccinated however keep in mind there are many other nasty things out there and just be safe : ) alohaz

Yes - it is highly unusual for a doctor to make recommendations about who their patients to stay with or break up with.
On the issue of saliva / kissing - it seems that the risk is quite low, but does it not also depend on whether someone is e antigen positive and what their viral load is?

you cannot infect some as long as you do not have a sore, wound or blood in your mouth. Try to hold off kiss for a few minutes after brushing just incase you might have a bleeding gum.
