I am trying to get my mind round whether or not my husbands sudden death nearly four years ago was due to hemo.. There had been a history of sudden death in his family for absolutely years, from the age of about 45 upwards, but we felt it was due to cholesterol and as that was controlled were not worried. However, he had no symptoms at all and, though overweight, was very healthy. He was very tired the couple of days before he died. He was 62. Is it possible this was due to hemo..? My son has been diagnosed with this after Johns death as we wanted an answer to these sudden deaths in the family - my other son was clear. Obviously, though, myself and my husband both had the gene.

My sister in law died earlier this year with leukaemia - could this have been anything to do with this? Her three sons dont want to be tested but though I suspect she had the gene I suppose their wives and girlfriends need not have, but one in ten is rather high...:0(....

Is it possible to get to age 62 perfectly healthy - there was no diagnosis of hemo...at post mortem, the death was found to be due to an aortic aneurism. I would really like to be clear about this, my main concern now, being for my nephews....

Thank you so much for any advice you may be able to give me.....*smiling*

" I've read a book put out by the Iron Overload Disease association that states that iron overload can cause pitting and scarring in the veins and arteries and cause heart failure. So I would say it is possible.

Check out the IOD, they are located in West Palm Beach, FL. "
