I was wondering about some symptoms I'm having, and if anyone else is experiencing them. When I'm in emotionally stressful situations my respiratory rate increases. If I'm active, I can feel fine in the morning but throughout the day as I do more I begin to have chest pains which I believe is unstable angina. I would appreciate knowing if anyone else suffers from these issues. Thanks Mark

" Are you having anxiety problems? I know people with anxiety or panic attacks can have trouble breathing; also, anxiety and panic problems are common in people with heart and lung problems. My sister-in-law has severe pulmonary hypertension and she can get very anxious over just the thought of being out of breath. "

" I'm not sure I never had a panic attack before, I don't feel anxious per say just stressed. I'm not panicking about my breathing, I have been short of breath for sometime during activity and am normally already short of breath when this happens but stress seam to make it much worse. "

" I'm not an expert but I think it is common for stress to make breathing problems worse. Have you spoken with your dr about stress management? "

" Sure it happens to me. When you get stressed your heartrate goes up. If your meds are holding your heartrate back you will breath heavier. My cardiologist doubled my dosage of carvedilol from 12.5 to 25mg and I had more problems with weakness and being out of breath. I just went back to the original dosage a couple days ago and feel better already. But I'm set to go for all the tests soon to see how the heart is doing.

Hope this helps, Bob "
