I went to the doc a few days ago for irregular heartbeat. He did an ECG which showed PVC's and a probable heart attack (old). I was so stunned. How could I have a heart attack and not know it? He ordered a Holter monitor test (1st available in 2 wks) and some blood tests and that was it. Still stunned, I left the office. Now the reality has sunk in and I am in a constant state of anxiety. Which brings on more PVC's. Every little chest or arm pain freaks me out. I feel like I should have been tested more or given a med. or something. Any comments will be so appreciated. Finding this site has already brought my panic level down a notch. I feel like crying all the time but it would upset my family too much so I hold it in.

" All of your feelings are normal I think. I am so scared most of the time. I too don't let my family know. When you go to the cardiologist he/she treats your condition so matter of fact. I just want to yell to everyone "I almost died'. "The most catastropic thing happened to me." It does get better over time. My HA was in March. I can sleep thru the night sometimes. I still have symptoms and my cardi says I need to self-actualize. I want to tell him, "you go thru this and see how self-actualized you are." But I don't. I just smile and nod. Well I am also one scared, confused person. But I will offer you support and encouragement. I will pray for you! You are not alone. "
