This has helped my diet; what about you?

I was going to put this under recommendation, but there were too many questions.

If any of you are having to follow a low sodium diet, here are two things that have helped me: a cookbook "500 Low Sodium Recipes" by Dick Logue, and a bread machine.

When my cardi said keep sodium under 3 grams (2300mg) I thought there was no way I could do that. Before my MI I was a saltaholic. However, I want to live, so I was determined to do it. First I bought the cookbook and it is great! Lots of easy recipes using mostly staples you probably already have, tips and 'tricks' on lowering sodium intake, and recipes for stuff you need to cook other stuff. Can't say enough good about this book. It inspired me to buy a bread machine, something I have never had an interest in until I realized that a turkey sandwich with mustard could have as much as 700mg of sodium. YIKES! Making my own bread cuts that almost in half, depending on the turkey. The bread has about 4-6 mg sodium and it's really good. It is so simple: you just put the ingredients in the machine in the order given and 3 hours later you've got bread. LOVE Mr. Logue's Honey Wheat! It's my new favorite.

Just thought I'd pass along helpful info, and I'd love to hear from some others about what you eat and how you changed your eating patterns after your MI.
