interesting I am having the same issue with LOPID ....I can take Lopid anytime once a day and its a real battle trying to figure out which time is best but it does matter when I take it I'm just not getting it right ie if I take it in the morning I,m fine for 1/2 the day and if I take it in the evening then my daytime is okay but not as good ...I think my liver is crazy lol it produces the bad cholestrol when its not supposed to like it knows when I'm going to pop the pill . Maybe lipitor is dependant on the persons preferance to take it too . Trial and Error ...

My Doctor told me to take lipitor at bedtime because you don't eat anything and it can do its job better.

When I was working in the hospital, our Pharmacy used to put Lipitor scheduled for morning meds if it wasn't specifically written for bedtime.

I usually had them switch it to bedtime...b/c that's when Zocor is always scheduled to be given...so why not Lipitor too??

I say night time.

My husband is taking Simvastatin 20mg and it says right on the bottle to take it in the evening.

I was told that I had to take mine at bedtime. but im on plavix and asprin and i take them al in the morning. I did change from lipotor to crestor cause the lip cased my muscles to ache

My mother takes hers at night and I am Zocor and I take it at night also. My heart doctor said works better while sleeping and done with meals for the day.

hi, my name is connie. i had 5 heart attacks.3 when i was 37. i didnt take my pills all the time.then i had 2 more at 42. my suggestion is to look at the label.take as told to. maybe i wouldnt of had a double bypass if i took my pills

Not sure if we do things different in the UK but cholestrol meds are always taken in the evening as they work better apparently. it doesn't have to be right before bed. you can take them from 7ish onwards apparently. thats when i take my statin, hope it helps.
